| The ESF provides training under a wide range of training measures. The ESF is administered
by a series of sectoral organisations covering Higher Education, the voluntary sector and co-operative movement,
local authorities, industrial training boards, the women's training network, Central Government. For a list of
administrators see the separate information sheet. ESF funds are also administered under integrated development
operations which cover objective 1,2 and 5b areas, see separate list of objective 1,2 5b areas. The ESF will pay
45% of the total costs of an eligible vocational training programme. There is also a wage subsidy scheme, and funds
are available for innovatory programmes (which introduce new training ideas) and transnational programmes where
the training takes place in more than one EC country. The fund contributes to training allowances scheme preparation
general running expenses scheme management vocational guidance training assistance subsistence and travel wage
subsidies. In addition to objectives indicated in the Objective 3 funding programme (i.e. support for training
the unemployed), additional criteria for grant support are available in the Objective 1,2 and 5 b areas. For objective
2 areas the following priorities and measures apply within Great Britain. There is an operational programme for
each integrated development (IDO) area, and for each non-IDO area covered by objective 2. - Measure 231 - vocational
training for the unemployed and managers in small and medium sized firms - Measure 232 - employment measures/wage
subsidies - Support for training in the tourism sector is also highlighted. Objective 2 Each of the following operational
programmes covers a specific geographical area and all of the development priorities involving the European Social
Fund included in the relevant objective 2 Community Support Framework. The programmes relate to all of the main
